Paint Correction
Machine polishing to remove swirl marks, surface scratches and scuffs — with honest assessment of what's achievable before we start.
Service Levels
Not all scratches are the same — and the right approach depends on depth. D83 assesses every vehicle with a paint thickness gauge before committing to a correction level, and quotes honestly based on what the clear coat can safely withstand.
Level 1
From £99
Fine swirl marks, light surface scuffs and wash-induced scratches that are visible in direct light but don't break through the clear coat. Machine polish with a single-stage compound and finishing pad.
Suitable For
Level 2
From £199
Deeper scratches that have penetrated the clear coat surface layer but haven't reached the colour coat. More aggressive compound followed by refinement polish — typically removes 70–85% of clear coat scratches.

Level 3
From £699
The full Enhance Detail — multiple compound stages to maximise defect removal, followed by finishing polish and ceramic coating. The benchmark for show-standard paint correction across the full vehicle.

The Process
01
A digital paint thickness gauge is used to measure clear coat depth across all panels. This establishes how much material is available for correction and sets the limit of safe polishing.
02
A thorough wash, iron fallout removal and clay bar decontamination ensures the surface is completely clean before any polishing begins. Polishing over contamination causes more scratches.
03
The appropriate compound, polish and pad combination is selected for the scratch type and clear coat hardness. Correction is done methodically, panel by panel, checking progress under LED lighting.
04
A finishing polish removes the haze left by the compound stage, restoring a high-gloss finish. This stage determines the final visual quality of the correction.
05
The corrected paintwork is protected with either a ceramic sealant (longer lasting) or a high-grade carnauba wax to preserve the finish and prevent rapid re-contamination.
