Chalk dust, coastal salt air and New Forest pollen — Hampshire's convertible hoods face a unique challenge. Specialist cleaning from £199.
Hampshire's Unique Challenge
Hampshire's geography creates a tri-source contamination environment for convertible soft tops. From the south, coastal salt air from the Solent and Southampton Water carries salt particles inland — hygroscopic particles that draw and hold moisture in fabric fibres. From the east, fine chalk dust from the South Downs deposits a mineral film that bonds to damp fabric and dulls colour rapidly. From the west and north, the New Forest releases extraordinary volumes of pollen throughout spring and summer — one of the highest pollen counts in England.
Hampshire is also home to England's strongest classic car culture outside of the West Midlands — the Goodwood circuit, the New Forest classic scene and the broader Hampshire enthusiast community maintain some of the country's most significant private collections. D83's careful approach to original and vintage soft tops is as relevant here as anywhere in the service area.
